The last few weeks with our Don Pablito × Main Character puppies went by way too fast.
From six to eight weeks old, the puppies changed so much. They went from little puppies still figuring everything out to four confident, playful personalities getting ready to head home with their families. Between their temperament evaluations, vet visits, and preparing everyone for go-home, there was a lot happening behind the scenes.

Growing, Playing & Exploring
By six weeks, the puppies were much more active and curious about everything around them. Playtime became a lot more entertaining as they explored their environment, interacted with each other, and started showing more of their individual personalities.
We continued introducing different sounds, surfaces, toys, handling, and everyday experiences. They also had plenty of time to play together as a litter and learn from one another.
At this age, the little things matter. Every new experience gave them another opportunity to explore, learn, and build confidence.
Building Good Habits
During these final weeks, we continued working on simple routines to help prepare the puppies for life with their new families.
Our days included:
- Handling and grooming
- Positive reinforcement
- New sounds, surfaces, toys, and environments
- Playtime and opportunities to settle afterward
- Consistent feeding and potty routines
We don't expect an eight-week-old puppy to have everything figured out. The goal is to introduce these experiences early and give each puppy a foundation their family can continue building on at home.
Temperament Evaluations
Another important part of these final weeks was completing each puppy's temperament evaluation.
By this point, we had already spent weeks watching their personalities develop, but the evaluations gave us another opportunity to observe each puppy individually and see how they responded to different situations and experiences.
It was also interesting to see how much of what we had already noticed about each puppy throughout the previous weeks showed up during their evaluations.
Even though these four puppies share the same parents and were raised together, each one developed their own personality.
Vet Checks & Getting Ready for Go-Home
Before heading home, the puppies also completed their final veterinary checks and health preparations.
They received their age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, were examined by the veterinarian, and received their health certificates before leaving for their new homes.
Keeping up with their health throughout those first eight weeks was just as important as everything else we worked on. From monitoring their weights as newborns to routine deworming and finally their go-home vet visit, it was pretty amazing to see how much they had grown.
Getting Ready to Leave the Nest
Once the vet visits and temperament evaluations were complete, it was officially time to start getting everyone ready to leave.
We organized each puppy's records/paperwork, prepared their take-home information, and provided each family with an ebook/resources covering feeding, potty training, basic training, puppy biting, deworming, parasite care, etc.

Then came the bittersweet part: go-home day.
After eight weeks of feeding, cleaning, weighing, handling, socializing, training, photographing, evaluating, and watching these four grow, it was finally time to send them off.
From BTTBK to Their New Homes 🤎
All four Pablito × Main Character puppies are officially home with their families!
Our puppies are now beginning their next chapters with families across Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.
It's always exciting to see where our puppies end up, but the best part is knowing we'll still get to watch them grow. Eight weeks with us was only the beginning.
