Whelping Box Adventures: TCK Buddha x BadtotheBone Wild Child 3-Week-Updates

Welcome back! TCK Buddha x BadtotheBone Wild Child puppies are 3 weeks old (24 days old to be exact). Today we wanted to show you some cute pit bull puppy photos and give you some updates from the whelping box!

Whelping Box Exposure

The whelping box is an essential space for pit bull puppy development. Since our pit bull puppies turned 3 weeks old, we added a variety of toys to their whelping box. This is called whelping box exposure. Whelping box exposure stimulates pit bull puppies' senses and sparks their curiosity. Each day we will add new items and observe how our puppies explore and interact!

Why Whelping Box Exposure Matters

• Interacting with toys and littermates is the first lesson in socialization. Whelping box exposure paves the way for confident dogs.
• The whelping box offers a sensory playground for pit bull puppies. Pit bulls love to explore different textures, sounds, and scents, which are all vital for brain development.
• At 3 Weeks Old, pit bull puppies begin to take their first wobbly steps. The whelping box provides a safe area for them to practice their mobility and build strength.

3-Week Milestones

• At 3 weeks old eyes are fully open.
• Tiny barks become more frequent as the pups begin to try out vocal sounds. 
• Puppies start to test out their legs and start to explore their surroundings.
• Baby teeth are starting to come in and pups may chew on toys or objects.

The whelping box is a great area where pit bull puppies can begin to learn about the world. Providing early experiences of whelping box exposure sets the stage for confident and well-adjusted dogs.
